This plate reminds me of gardens or meadows seen from an aerial view. I used a mix of sizes and shapes of black glass coated in a rainbow of metallic iridescent colors: silver, bronze, gold, blues, purples and greens. Then I combined those pieces with occasional squares and rectangles of transparent red glass, so you can see through the red parts. I opted for the matte look when the iridescent glass is not topped with a clear (which would give a shiny look). It’s still food-safe but with a soft, hazy look.
